Things to do while Social Distancing
Go for a walk
Do a puzzle as a family
Bicycle Scavenger Hunt (instead of just going on a bike ride, create a list of things to find while out riding your bike – houses with a 9 in the address, streets with a person name, etc.)
Play a game of charades, but make it where the person has to act out a Bible story
Write a letter to a friend, relative or even person a nursing home that you haven’t seen in a while
Facetime (or text) a different person from your contact list each day.
Mad Libs (even if you don’t have a book there are many that can be printed out online)
Family Slip and Slide (you can get them cheap at Walmart or make one with a tarp and some dish soap)
Do a puppy show with homemade sock puppets
Go fishing
Board games (even if you don’t have some, you can still make your own. All your need for Pictionary and some paper and pens)
Go through all your clothes and toys and donate what you don’t use (Seriously, if you haven’t used it in 6 months, you probably don’t need it)
Wash the car. Wash your neighbor’s car.
Plant a tree or some flowers in your yard
Bake Goods
Pizza night – let everyone decorate their own pizza
Go on a picnic
Paper airplane contest
Build a fort in the family room and watch a movie in it
Make a list of things you are grateful for and then hang it up until social distancing is over
Taste test (get a variety of Oreos or Lays Chips from the store and see if you can guess the flavor)
Write thank you notes to the people who are still working and give them to them when you see them (post carrier, trashmen, etc)
Do family devotion (there are many online family devotion sites)
Cards games (Texas hold’em, go fish, spades, hearts, etc)
DANCE PARTY (for preschoolers there are great children’s worship songs on Youtube by searching Yancy)
Build a Lego Kit
Fly a Kite (or drone if you are modern)
Four Square (all you need is a kick ball and tape)
Bake a cake as a family (it is not about how it comes out, but the process of making it)
Dress up Party (let your children dress in your clothes)
Read a different chapter of a book of the Bible each day
Throw a dinner party and have children make decorations, name plates, etc.
Make crafts with what you have (pasta necklace, toilet paper roll man, etc)
Set up a treasure hunt (and make the main treasure the Bible)
Bingo (lots of Bingo games that you can print off the internet)
Watch the Animals (the Cincinnati Zoon and Georgia Aquarium have live free cameras of different exhibits)
Word search (there are many Biblical word searches online that you can print off)
Hopscotch (all you need is some chalk. Really, when was the last time you played)
America Ninja Warrior (set up an outdoor obstacle course)
Schoology, Go Noodle or Class Dojo (keep those brains active)
Start a Band (let everyone in the family either use or make an instrument and then play something together)
Each person draw another family member (and then share it, but don’t take yourself too seriously)
